The Otago Recreational 4WD Group was established by a group of 4WD enthusiasts in January 2004 to provide an alternative to the established Dunedin club and provide an environment for family members of all ages to take part in organised trips into the scenic back country areas not normally accessible to members of the public. To this end we have worked very hard to develop a good working relationship with land owners and the Department of Conservation.

Our group does not take part in competitive events and does not encourage the use of specialist off road vehicles. We promote the safe use of ordinary family type 4WD vehicles, most of which are factory standard, although some have had modification work done to them in order to provide better ability off road.

Club meetings are held at the Lounge Bar of South Bar, on Frederick St, beside the Dental School at 8pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Please feel free to come along and make yourself known to us. We welcome the opportunity to get to know you.
